Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch in Paris

The Modern Art Museum City of Paris (‘Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris’ in French) is one of the most visited in Europe because there you can find the most extravagant and transgressive works of recent times. Inaugurated in 1961, the museum was filled with works donated by great collectors of the time. The biggest intellectuals participated in the events that took place there and, slowly, it gained international relevance.

Many artists, once they felt the magic of the museum, decided to give their works so that they would be exhibited there so that the public who came from all over the world could see them.

Some of the strongest trends that the museum exhibits are New Realism, Povera Art and Narrative Figuration among other. And the most outstanding names among the authors of the works are Bonnard, Dufy and Stephen Martin.

What this museum has in terms of being special and mystical is that it’s always supporting young artists to believe in culture, in art and in design. With a luminous perspective towards the creation of unique pieces, the Modern Art Museum City of Paris is the home to thousands of new artists who decide to enter the world of the arts.

This is the case of the great, and young at the same time, American artists Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch, who have been exhibiting their works in the museum since October 2011 and will be doing so until the beginning of next year.

Ryan Trecartin is 30 years old and currently lives in Los Angeles. Since he graduated in art at Rhode Island School of Design in 2004, he hasn’t stopped winning internationally acclaimed awards such as the ‘New Artist of the Year Award’ at The First Annual Art Awards in New York. And slowly, his work began to be well known around the world. THat’s how he exhibited and worked for various museums and cultural venues in Europe, Asia and America.

His colleague, Lizzie Fitch, is also an enthusiast of good art and they’ve been working together for various years.

At just 30 years of age, these artists have managed to convey their message and make an impression to the public who accepts them and follows them step by step through their exhibitions and shows. The Modern Art Museum City of Paris is the ideal place for these artists to exhibit because it’s the cradle of young, innovative and transgressive art.

The exhibition which will be open to the public for over three months hasvideos, installations and sculptures, all of them with a unique singularity. The artists worked together on the creation of this project but, at the same time, each kept their own style and maintained their own subjective outlook on the world.

This way, one complemented the other. On the subject of the videos, while Ryan wrote and directed the short films, Fitch was in charge of the general artistic production. But what both wanted to transmit was the same: the fusion of many different worlds and how age, the gender of the characters and their appearance mixed to produce unseen results.
