 Here’s some small stocks making big moves today, Monday, March 13, 2017 – and the reasons why.

1. The stock of DiaMedica Therapeutics Inc., (TSXV: DMA; OTCQB: DMCAF), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing synthetic protein treatments for neurological and kidney diseases, has jumped 26% so far today (2:30PM) to $0.27 after announcing what it called “positive results” from its Phase Ib bridging trial.

According to Dr. Todd Verdoorn, Chief Scientific Officer of DiaMedica, “We… have identified an intravenous dose of DM199 that mimics the currently approved version of the drug and a new subcutaneous delivery option that could provide sustained therapeutic levels of DM199 for acute ischemic stroke”.

The Company plans to use the results of this study to guide Phase II dosing in upcoming clinical trials and plans to publish the full results of the study in a peer reviewed journal.

2. On the downside, shares of Aralez Pharmaceuticals Inc. ((NASDAQ: ARLZ; TSX: ARZ) are DOWN 27%% so far today as a result of the specialty pharmaceutical company reporting before the markets opened this morning that its GAAP net loss for fiscal 2016 widened to $103.0 million from $37.8 million during fiscal 2015.

That being said, its 4Q2016 net revenues Increased to $20 million versus $6 million in the comparable period of 2015 and its full-year net revenues Increased to $54.3 million versus $21.4 million in the comparable period of 2015. The aforementioned figures are in U.S. dollars.

3. Finally, Adamera Minerals Corp. (TSXV: ADZ)  (OTC: DDNFF) has gained 16% so far today after the gold explorer announced that it has defined a second set of VTEM electromagnetic anomalies in the Cooke Mountain Project in Washington State. Adamera has now defined six targets that warrant testing during its upcoming drill program.
