Android Started At Apple As Much As iPad Started At HP

Apple which lost its case against Android in Europe seems to be getting desperate. Anti-Android propaganda machine now wants the press to believe that Android started at Apple. Why? Just because Andy Rubin, Android creator, once worked at Apple.

The claim is laughable as Andy was a low-level engineer at Apple between 1989-1992, with seemingly no access to the core projects. That was the time when Apple did not even have a clear future, let alone having any concept of the iPhone or the iPad.

It’s sounds more ludicrous because even if there is remotest of the remote possibility that Apple was even thinking of any such device in 1989 it would be extremely secretive about it and someone as low as Andy would never have access to it.

Big companies don’t work the way these propagandists want us to think. Do you think ever engineer at Microsoft gets access to the entire code of Windows 7? No. They get to see only one or two unrelated parts of it. It’s like working at Boeing and all you get to see is a nut. You can’t get inspiration of 747 from a nut, or can you?

Apple was in ruins when Andy worked there
Readers must also know that the years during which Andy worked for Apple were the years of Apple’s decline. Steve Jobs was kicked out of Apple in 1985 and he did not return until 1996. During this time Apple was all messed up. It was only in 1996 (and Andy had already left the company 4 years go) when Steve Jobs returned and tried to bring the company back to business.

It appears what the anti-Android propaganda machine wants the press to believe is that Apple shared its most valuable secret with a low level engineer, at the time when its founder was kicked out and the company had lost its focus, about the product that it will develop 20 years later. Wow. And I thought I was a fiction writer.

Big Fat Lies?
Apple was accused of manipulating images of the Galaxy Tab in it court filing to make it look similar to the iPad. Samsung said that Apple manipulated 27 images in the German court.

Apple saw two major setback in German court after its defeat in the Dutch court which rejected all of Apple’s claims, and gave Samsung 7 weeks time to fix the remaining issue. The first setback was when the German court had to lift the ban from Europe as it had no jurisdiction. Second being Samsung’s submission of evidences that theiPad’s design is a clear case of prior art. Apple is likely to lose the case in German court as well.

Apple started at Atari & HP?
Now, this new accusation that Andy might have gotten idea of Android from Apple should be analyses carefully. I would also like to note that industry players keep moving from one company to another. Apple lobby may not like you to know that Apple’s own CEO, Tim Cook, comes from HP-Compaq and IBM. Does that mean Apple started at HP and IBM? Henry Ford once worked at Westinghouse Electric does that mean Ford started at Westinghose? Steve Jobs himselfworked at HP and Atari before he founded Apple, does that mean Apple started at Atari and HP?

So, the press should be a bit careful while using a blog as its sole source which tried to misguided the press regarding the Dutch decision. While it was a clear victory for Samsung, that blog twisted it as the victory of Apple and tech-illitrary press covered it as such.

Twisting Samsung’s victory in the Dutch court as the victory of Apple would be similar to someone trying to twist the story of Obama’s success in assassinating Bin Laden as the victory of Taliban.

Linus Torvalds recently said for such propagandists, ”If it’s some desperate cry for attention by somebody, I just wish those people would release their own sex tapes or something, rather than drag the Linux kernel into their sordid world.”
