Investors are making BlackBerry’s (BBRY) stock move again. Since announcing the Android BlackBerry device, BlackBerry quickly rolled out its launch. The stock quietly rallied alongside this release. Shares bottomed at $6.02 on September 28 and closed recently at $7.50.

Looking for tags and keywords for “Priv”, the first Android on BlackBerry and having a physical keyboard, is telling. Interest for Priv on message forums, blogs, twitter, and news sites spiked on many occasions:

BlackBerry accepted pre-orders for a few weeks now. Telus (TU) took it a step further and is hosting a digital test drive on its site ahead of its release on November 6. In the U.S., the company announced Priv will be available on AT&T (T), also on November 6.

Limited but effective advertising

Advertising on Priv is limited but will be effective. The company is using Vine to tout the privacy aspect of the device. On its twitter account, the link is “BlackBerry.com/privacyon.”

BB10 takes a back seat

Unsurprisingly, weak overall sales for BB10-based devices means the company is not putting much effort selling the Classic, Leap, or Passport. Still, there are discount codes floating on the web that gives users another $50 off the $499 Passport. Those on the passport will know the battery life is great.

Further,
1. BlackBerry confirmed ongoing support for BB10 (Native, Cascades, web, BlackBerry World).
2. Apps on Priv now available in Google Play Store. This could set the stage for the firm selling the infamous keyboard to all Android users.

BlackBerry’s stock should continue its ride up. The next quarterly report (in December) will include a month’s worth of Priv shipments. A surprisingly strong sales report will be enough for the stock to trade higher.

Enterprise software consolidation

BlackBerry’s $425 million acquisition of Good Technology closed on November 2. Integrating the iOS-friendly enterprise mobility management software with BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) will happen quickly. The company plans to include Good Technology on BES 12.4. This is good news for shareholders. It means Good should contribute positively and quickly to the company’s balance sheet. When considering cost cuts and patent fees, Good should generate positive free cash flow for BlackBerry.
